Product-specific privacy

Tag Inspector privacy

Tag Inspector makes no network call at all: it is free, and nothing it captures leaves your browser on its own.

What it reads

On the pages you open, locally: the addresses of the scripts, the page's resource timeline, the requests the page sends to its marketing vendors with their parameters, the globals of the tag managers, and the Adobe Target decisions the page received, including the profile. tokens a site sends in its Target responses.

Where it is kept

The captures are in the browser's session storage (chrome.storage.session) only. The captures of a tab are deleted when the tab closes, and all of them are held for the session and deleted when you close the browser. No history is kept across sessions.

The one thing that stays is your light or dark theme preference (lv_theme, in the panel's localStorage), which is a display setting, not personal data, and is never sent.

What leaves your browser

The profile. tokens are visitor data: they are shown only in the panel and are never exported.

What leaves the browser is what you ask for: the CSV, the JSON and the copied summary, which you create by pressing a button, with the page address cut of its query string and fragment.

Third parties

Tag Inspector does not sell or transfer user data to third parties, and does not use it for any purpose other than showing you what the page sends.

For the site's general policy, see Privacy.
